The graduate: Morning Musume star makes room for fresh talent

2014.12.01
Sayumi Michishige has been praised as “the greatest leader in the history of Morning Musume.”

But the time has finally come for Michishige, now 25, to “graduate” from the hugely popular all-girls idol group after devoting her last 12 years to it. She said good-bye to the fans at her final graduation concert in Yokohama this week.

Michishige had been in the group for 4,329 days, the longest tenure of any member of the group, which is now called Morning Musume ’14.
