First local version of “SASUKE” in Europe logs channel’s highest rating in time slot in 12 years!
The first local version of “SASUKE” in Europe, “Ninja Warrior Sverige” debuted on Thursday, January 29, in prime time at 8:00 p.m. on Kanal 5 in Sweden. Despite going up against the popular “Antikrundan (Antiques Roadshow)” program on SVT1, "Ninja Warrior Sverige" earned a 6.4% rating in its target 15-44 age demographic with a 26.7% share. With these impressive figures, the program won its time slot in Sweden’s fiercely contested Thursday prime time landscape. In addition, the program turned in the highest rating in the past 12 years among Kanal 5 programs in its time slot.
With the “SASUKE” family of programs already being recognized throughout Europe, "Ninja Warrior Sverige" easily recruited a large number of seasoned athletes from across Sweden, who battled valiantly before the program’s famous sportscasters and an enthusiastic live audience.
Viewers can now look forward to 9 more weeks in the program’s regular season.
“SASUKE” content has been sold in 157 countries and territories. Sales extend through Asia, Europe, and North America, as well as the Middle East and Latin America. Local versions of the program have been produced in the US, Malaysia, and Singapore, and a local Vietnamese version is currently in the works. With the addition of Sweden, Europe joins Asia and North America in the list of continents that have hosted local “SASUKE” versions, and the popularity of the “SASUKE” format continues to expand globally.
